TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND DISCLAIMER
WHO WE ARE
"North London Skate Club" and "NLSC" are trading names of North London Skate Club Ltd (company number 14207952). "We", "us" and "our" mean North London Skate Club Ltd, and include any contracted instructor acting on our behalf. "You" or "Pupil" mean the booker or skate participant.
These terms apply to every booking made through our website or our booking system. If anything in these terms conflicts with anything said by an instructor or in an email, these terms apply unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.
HOW OUR CLASSES ARE DELIVERED
Our classes and lessons are delivered by self-employed instructors engaged by North London Skate Club Ltd as independent contractors (not employees). Every instructor who delivers a session for us holds their own valid public liability insurance appropriate to skateboarding and skating instruction. The instructor delivering your session is responsible for its supervision and instruction.
SAFETY: HELMETS, PADS AND EQUIPMENT
All pupils must wear a helmet at all times during lessons. Knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards must be worn by all pupils aged under 13. For pupils aged 13 and over, pads are strongly recommended; a parent or guardian may opt out by emailing info@northlondonskateclub.com.
Pupils should bring their own equipment where possible. We have boards, helmets and pads available to borrow free of charge — mark what you need on your booking intake form (or email us) and we'll bring it along. We don't provide rollerblades or roller skates.
We accept no responsibility for personal injury, or for loss or damage to personal property, except where the law says we cannot.
BOOKINGS, PRICES AND PAYMENT
Places are only confirmed once payment has been taken through our booking system. Prices shown at checkout include VAT.
Membership packs are valid 12 months from the date of purchase. Once a booking has been made, no refunds will be given except where we cancel your session (see IF WE CANCEL) or where the law requires a refund.
If you book a session that starts within 14 days of booking, you agree that the service begins at the session's start time. This means the statutory 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts does not apply once that session has been taken.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that sometimes plans change.
If removed from a weekly class 24 hours in advance, your pack will be credited.
If removed from a Holiday camp 3 days in advance, your pack will be credited.
Otherwise, unfortunately you lose your credits (we have to organise and pay our instructors ahead of time).
If you cannot attend because of serious illness or injury, we will cancel the booking and return the credit to your pack, provided you tell us in advance and can provide a doctor's certificate if we ask for one. This applies to single sessions and to block bookings.
SUBSCRIPTIONS / BLOCK BOOKINGS (for example a school term of Kids Clubs)
Unfortunately this is not a flexible package. You must attend all sessions. You cannot cancel individual sessions, and missed sessions are not refunded or credited, except for illness or injury covered by the CANCELLATION POLICY above.
IF WE CANCEL
If for any reason we have to cancel your activity, a 100% credit towards an alternative activity or a full refund will be given. We will not be liable for any compensation or costs incurred by you as a result of cancellation.
FITNESS AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS
You are advised that skate activities can be strenuous and that you need to be reasonably fit. All activities carry an element of risk and a basic level of fitness is required to safely enjoy our activities.
Please inform us of any medical condition that may affect your fitness to take part, and tell the instructor on the day about any condition that limits or prevents safe participation, including the location of any relevant emergency medication (eg inhaler or EpiPen). We do not recommend activities for those with brittle bones or similar weakened bone conditions.
If you are in any doubt of your fitness to take part then please consult your doctor, especially if you have an existing injury, suffer from epilepsy or a cardiovascular or respiratory disorder, or if you are seriously overweight for your height.
If you are pregnant we would advise you not to take part in any skate activities.
LIABILITY
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability, or that of our instructors, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that: we accept no liability for indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
PROPERTY
We are not responsible for damage to, or the loss or theft of, any property during your lesson.
PRIVACY
By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. If we have asked for your consent to process your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
If we are processing your personal data for reasons of consent or to fulfil a contract, you can ask us to give you a copy of the information in a machine-readable format so that you can transfer it to another provider.
If we are processing your personal data for reasons of consent or legitimate interest, you can request that your data be erased.
You have the right to ask us to stop using your information for a period of time if you believe we are not doing so lawfully.

I understand that skate and ride activities have associated risks.
I understand that there are qualified skateboard coaches able to provide support; however I accept that I am fully responsible for my or my child's own health, fitness, safety and welfare both on and off the skate and ride facilities, and I have been advised that I or my child should wear protective equipment.
I accept that my or my child's participation in skate and ride activities and use of all equipment is completely at their own risk.
I accept that the skate coaches and their associates shall not be held liable for any loss or damage, howsoever arising, suffered by any participant during this activity, except where the law does not allow this to be excluded. I also accept that the skate coaches may, at their discretion, refuse to allow me or my child to participate should language be deemed offensive or behaviour be dangerous to themselves or others.
It should be recognised that participants may need physical contact with skateboard coaches to prevent accidents and/or to show a balance or other position relating to the activity.
By checking the "agree box", you expressly agree and declare that you have voluntarily accepted all the matters set out above, including all the risks, responsibilities and obligations.
